Mrs. Dalloway is novel by Virginia Woolf published in 1925.
“She had the perpetual sense, as she watched the taxi cabs, of being out, out, far out to sea and alone; she always had the feeling that it was very, very, dangerous to live even one day.”
“All the same, that one day should follow another; Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday; that one should wake up in the morning; see the sky; walk in the park; meet Hugh Whitbread; then suddenly in came Peter; then these roses; it was enough. After that, how unbelievable death was!-that it must end; and no one in the whole world would know how she had loved it all; how, every instant . . .”
“He thought her beautiful, believed her impeccably wise; dreamed of her, wrote poems to her, which, ignoring the subject, she corrected in red ink...”
“Mrs Dalloway is always giving parties to cover the silence”
“It was a silly, silly dream, being unhappy.”
“She thought there were no Gods; no one was to blame; and so she evolved this atheist's religion of doing good for the sake of goodness.”
“It might be possible that the world itself is without meaning.”
“But nothing is so strange when one is in love (and what was this except being in love?) as the complete indifference of other people.”

Oh! Just look at these beauties! My beloved woman, Virginia Woolf, another outstanding novel, Mrs.Dalloway and the best voice ever, Stream of consciousness voice! They are here, gather faithfully together :)
As a matter of fact, I wanted to write about the novel, about themes of novel, some elements like usage of interior monologue in Mrs. Dalloway, talking about some comparison between Woolf’s novel and some other masterpieces and so on … but I told my self ‘Why do I say these things?’ I just want to talk about my feeling tonight. I have special feelings about Woolf and her thoughts which formed as a novel. Reading these quotes make me think about these great work of art:
First: “Mrs.Dalloway” itself
Second: “The Hours” a novel written by Michael Cunningham
Third: “The Hours”, dram
a film directed by Stephen Daldry (Right now, while I am thinking about these issues, I’m listening to a soundtrack of the movie I just mention “The Hours”; you know It’s wonderful. Sometimes I can't concentrate on anything without music especially when I write something! Anyhow, the soundtrack shows all of the senses which they are flowing in Mrs.Dalloway or in MichaelCunningham novel for all of these women; Virginia Woolf, Clarissa Dalloway, Laura Brown, Clarissa Vaughan and me myself!
Just want to share the sound track`s link with you:

And also I am thinking about these words: Insanity, Existential issues, mental illnesses, feminism, Homosexuality and … why did she commit suicide? I mean Virginia Woolf. Just look at this:
“I don't think two people could have been happier than we have been.”
-- From Virginia Woolf's suicide note to Leonard Woolf(Her husband). p7, 1999 Fourth Estate paperback edition.
Did you know Woolf's original plan for her novel called for Clarissa to kill herself during her party. In this original version, Septimus (whom Woolf called Mrs. Dalloway's "double") did not appear at all!
This is a part of a poem named ‘Endymion’ by John Keats:
A thing of beauty is a joy forever
Its lovliness increases;it will never
Pass into nothingness…
And sometimes I think she is still alive! Its loveliness (her thoughts and her novels) increases, it will never pass into nothingness … I feel this way for all of those artist soul who they commit suicide or killed by others. In fact the other guy who makes me think all day long is John Lennon and his killer Mark David Chapman. Just look at this photo. Chapman and Lennon as Chapman look at him in a peaceful manner just several hours before the shooting!

What is a difference between Chapman mental illness and the one who make Virginia to commit suicide?
Despite the poem I mention in lines above by Keats I want to mention another piece, actually the absurd and hopeless one;the bleak comment by Edgar in the last act of King Lear:
Men must endure
Their going hence, even as their coming hither,
Ripeness is all.
Sorry for this long comment without any unite solidarity of ideas and filled with Lack of consistency :) I think I use interior monologue technique to write this comment!
Interesting...
I saw the hours and I like it so much. The three characters of the film are great and their interconnection their feminity is a subject to think...
By the way thanks for the quotes and soundtrack.
If you come up with a writing on Mrs. Dalloway or Woolf please share.
